My screen keeps tearing under the oaks. What helps?
Two things. Heavier mesh on the roof panels takes limb and acorn strikes far better than standard fiberglass, and keeping the roof cleared through summer stops the weight of wet leaf litter stretching panels out of tension. We can do the first; the second is worth putting in the calendar.
Is the mildew on my screen a sign it needs replacing?
Not on its own. Mesh in permanent shade grows mildew long before it loses any strength, and it usually washes off. We will tell you if the screen underneath still has years in it rather than sell you a rescreen you do not need.
Do I need a permit for a rescreen in Maitland?
For a straight rescreen in an unchanged frame, normally no. Structural changes and new enclosures do need one, through the City of Maitland building department. We confirm before we start.
