Pool Screen Repair in
Ormond Beach, Florida

About half an hour south of our Palm Coast technician, and close enough that we schedule Ormond Beach as its own day rather than squeezing it onto one. We rescreen pool cages and lanais across Ormond Beach with heavy-duty Phifer fiberglass, no-see-um, pet-resistant or solar mesh — and we look at the frame before we quote the screen.

Screen enclosures in Ormond Beach

The Halifax River splits Ormond Beach into two different jobs. Beachside, east of the river, you get the full coastal treatment - corroded fasteners, pitting where the aluminum was cut, frames that wear out before the mesh does. Cross to the mainland and the salt drops away sharply, but the oak canopy takes over. The Trails and Tomoka Oaks sit under mature trees that drop something year-round, and the damage there is concentrated: torn roof panels under limbs, with the rest of the cage in good order. Those are two different estimates and anyone quoting Ormond Beach off a postcode alone is guessing.

What the housing here means for your cage

Ormond Beach has been affluent for a long time and the housing runs much older than the Flagler County suburbs to the north. Beachside you find homes from the twenties onward, often with porches and enclosures added decades after the house, so the attachment detail at the wall is the first thing we look at. On the mainland, Breakaway Trails, Ormond Lakes and Hunter's Ridge are late-eighties through two-thousands subdivisions whose original cages are on their second or third screen now. The frames are usually still sound; it is the fasteners and the spline channel that have gone, and that is a far better position to be in than it sounds.

Permits for Ormond Beach go through the City of Ormond Beach building department, or Volusia County's if you are in Ormond-by-the-Sea or another unincorporated pocket. Replacing screen in an unchanged frame is normally maintenance rather than permitted work, while structural changes generally are not — confirm with them before work starts, and we can tell you who to call. Ormond Beach questions we get asked

Why would a quote differ between beachside and the mainland?

Because they are different jobs. East of the Halifax River the salt goes after the frame and fasteners, and we price for checking and replacing those. West of it the frame is usually fine and the damage is concentrated where tree limbs have torn roof panels. Anyone quoting Ormond Beach without asking which side of the river you are on is guessing.

My cage is from the eighties. Is it past saving?

Usually not. On Trails-era and Tomoka Oaks enclosures the aluminum is typically still structurally sound and it is the fasteners and the spline channel that have gone, which is a much cheaper problem. We check that before quoting and we will tell you plainly if the frame really is finished.

Is Ormond-by-the-Sea covered, or just the city?

Both. Ormond-by-the-Sea is unincorporated Volusia County rather than city of Ormond Beach, which changes whose building department has authority over structural work but makes no difference to a rescreen or to whether we will come out.
